Making a spicy, traditional Masala Chai for the twin cities
The word "chai" means tea in many languages around the world. While the first recorded chai recipes are found in medical texts, today it can be found being brewed on streets by "chai wallahs" all over India and Southern Asia. It is said to have originated in the Assam region of India, where black tea still grows wild. In Keeping with tradition, our chai is made with Assam tea from this same region. All of our ingredients are 100% organic and we use Fair Trade whenever possible. The spices are milled the day they are brewed. Freshly grated raw ginger and evaporated cane juice are also added during the steeping process.
